MRN has an experienced and knowledgeable Asian Area Facilitator in Mark Hooper. Mark has assembled an Asian Advisory Panel composed of some of the most respected missionaries and Asian church leaders.
Asia is changing. Drastically. Rapidly. What was formerly a very traditional continent, home to all the major world religions, is now undergoing major cultural transformation. An exploding population, a rapidly expanding high tech infrastructure, and a globalizing economy has created a 21st century Asia very different from its past. It is no longer characterized by camel caravans, spices, and silk, but by software engineers, manufacturing, and outsourcing.
Yet, the temples are still there. The spiritual darkness remains. But the cultural disequilibrium caused by rapid changes creates an atmosphere of greater openness to spiritual truth. Many Asians are no longer traditional. They are ready for spiritual change. They are looking for God in the new Asia.
