Earlier this year in Dallas, Texas, at a gathering of 300 friends and supporters, Missions Resource Network introduced four new mission teams that will arrive on the field this year. History is being made as these teams will soon be sent out to four separate continents: Africa, Australia, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Rwanda, Africa, is the target nation for three families who will arrive in the capital city of Kigali this fall. The Richland Hills Church of Christ (TX) is sponsoring the entire team in partnership with other congregations. Team members include Chris & Jill Shelby (and son, Fred) of Sulphur Springs, TX; Heath & Rebecca Amos, Lubbock, TX; and David & Lori Kimbrow (and children, Ian & Lola), Fayetteville, AR. Sam & Nancy Shewmaker, facilitator for African church planting, serve as team mentors and coach.
Three families, all graduates of Harding University Graduate School of Religion, will soon arrive in Wollongong, Australia, near the southern edge of Sydney, the nation’s most populated city. This is the first American mission team in churches of Christ to go to Australia in twenty-five years. Members of the team includes Shawn & Kendra Griffith (and children, Darian & Brenna), sponsored by the Skyline Church in Jackson, TN; Corey & Emily Mullins, sponsored by the Legacy Church in North Richland Hills, TX; and Jason & Nicole Whaley, sponsored by the Round Rock (TX) Church. Alan Phillips, MRN associate director and facilitator for South Pacific church planting, serves as team mentor, in partnership with Harding Graduate School and Kairos Church Planting.
The Russian people are the target of another three-family mission team going to the field this year. All graduates of Sunset International Bible Institute, this team includes Mike & Lucy McDougle (and son, Canaan), sponsored by the Sunset Church, Lubbock, TX; Rob & Denyce Hindman (and children, Malachi & Silas), sponsored by the Sun Valley Church, Phoenix, AZ; and David & Olivia Nelson, sponsored by the Legacy Church, North Richland Hills, TX. A yet-to-be-determined Ukrainian city will be the launch site for this mission. Phil Jackson, facilitator for European church planting, and Jay Jarboe of the Sunset Church, are mentoring and coaching this team.
Southeast Asia will be the target of another three-family mission team this year, to be sponsored by the Hixson, TN, church. Due to security issues, we cannot print their mission location, list their names, or show a team photograph. Mark Hooper, facilitator for Asian church planting, is the team’s coach.

Pray for these families as they leave their own families, friends, careers, and native culture to take the message of Christ to those who have yet to submit their lives to Jesus.
