Day 1
Welcome to the 2024 Buddhist Prayer Challenge! For the next ten days, you are part of a community of believers praying for Buddhists and Buddhist Background Believers (people who’ve come to Jesus out of Buddhism), specifically those living around the Bay of Bengal. We are praying in the lead up to Dharma Day, the day on which Buddhists remember the first time others were taught how to be Buddhists.
During these ten days, you’ll receive daily prayer requests submitted and shaped by your brothers and sisters living among Buddhists. Some days, you’ll be called to pray big, regional prayers. Others, you’ll zero in on praying for a very specific group of people or even person.
Go ahead and mark your calendars for Wednesday, 17 July, at 8AM Central Time. We’ll have an opportunity to gather online to be led in prayer by a long-time worker among Buddhists.
Once you’ve done that, pray for the youth of the city of Chiang Mai, Thailand. In a country where mental health is not widely discussed or pursued, depression runs rampant among the youth. Pray that, in Jesus, they would find hope and meaning for their lives.
I’m looking forward to these 10 days, friend. See you tomorrow.
Peace.
