Children are an important part of the Kingdom of God! And even at a young age, they can learn to become like Jesus in ways that bless those around them!
This curriculum was created by Mission Resource Network to help churches cultivate a passion for Kingdom work in 2nd–5th graders. Children’s ministry leaders told us about the lack of missions-related resources for the kids they serve, so we created the Jesus Moves Children’s Curriculum to bridge that gap.
This curriculum addresses their concerns by providing a resource that organically links ideas of local and global engagement — because following Jesus shapes the way we love and serve both our neighbors and the nations.
This missions curriculum is not focused on cultural tourism and seeks to avoid the dangers of the "Western Hero" mentality. Instead, this teaching tool focuses on forming children through the story of Christ by practicing a Spiritual Discipline together, engaging in biblical texts through discovery, and finding ways to creatively implement the ways of Jesus in their homes, classrooms, neighborhoods, and beyond. We at Mission Resource Network believe a life modeled after the major elements in Christ’s story shapes children into disciples and Kingdom workers who can have a major impact for the Church both now and into the future.
“Thoughtfully crafted and theologically grounded, this curriculum reflects a deep respect for children’s spiritual capacities alongside a clear vision for what meaningful formation around missions can be.”
