Praying Boldly for Muslims

At MRN, we serve in the background of leaders scattered around the Kingdom. However, we have chosen to focus mainly on serving those working among Unreached People Groups (UPGs). Many of those efforts further focus on what we call the Mediterranean Rim Initiative, a collection of inside leaders, churches, and cross-cultural workers all devoting their lives to helping Muslims come into the light of a relationship with Jesus.

Five things are required during the lifetime of followers of Islam. We find ourselves in the middle of one of those, an annual fast throughout the month of Ramadan. From sun-up to sun-down, the world’s 1.8 billion Muslims are called to fast from all food and drink as they learn self-control, sacrifice, and empathy.

This is a month in which God’s children in Islam are paying special attention to spiritual matters. Although the enemy intends for this month to be one that pushes God’s lost children away from Him, every year Muslims come to Christ during Ramadan!!

Asking for change in the lives of almost 1/4th of the world’s population feels almost ridiculous (1.8 billion Muslims, friend!). However, Jesus tells us exactly how to pray: with shameless audacity (Luke 11.8). This month, let’s devote ourselves to begging God with shameless audacity for movement to Jesus among the Muslims living in the countries surrounding the Mediterranean. Ask that God would change the soil of the hearts of Muslims by the thousands and that He would call them to Himself.

You might start with a prayer like this:

Father of all, as Your children in Islam dedicate themselves to seeking Allah this Ramadan, we pray that they find You! Do not be silent, Lord - speak to them in dreams and visions and through believers around them. We pray for movement among Muslims in the MedRim. Bring honor to Yourself, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Finally, if you’d like to join with hundreds of other believers praying for Muslims during this month, click here to join a daily prayer challenge. Although Ramadan is 1/3 over as of today, it is by no means too late to join with us in praying the rest of this month!

Peace, friend.
