Day 1

Welcome, friend, to the Ramadan Prayer Challenge 2025! I’m glad we’re together on this month-long journey.

The observance of a daytime fast throughout the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam every Muslim is expected to observe. It marks the anniversary of when Allah gave the first chapters of the Quran to the prophet Muhammed.

This is a month in which God’s children in Islam are paying special attention to spiritual matters. Although the enemy intends for this month to be one that pushes God’s lost children away from Him, every year Muslims come to Christ during Ramadan!!

There are many well-done Christian prayer guides on behalf of Muslims during Ramadan. This prayer challenge is unique in that we are focused on a specific group of Muslims who are in relationship with a specific group of cross-cultural workers scattered around a (mostly) specific geographical area – the Mediterranean Rim. These daily prompts are not mine; I am passing on to you how we are all called into prayer by these workers who live among their Muslims neighbors, hoping to play a role in introducing them to Jesus.

This year, the first day of Ramadan is a Friday, the day of the week most Muslims already tend to focus on their religion. Pray today that, just as the Holy Spirit shapes your heart prayers, the Holy Spirit would also work in Muslims who walk into mosques today to somehow, by God’s grace, start a walk toward Jesus.

Peace, friend.
