Day 22
Fridays are unifying days within Islam. While Muslims might scatter throughout the week, they are called and gather back together with their friends and family and like-minded strangers on Friday. It’s far from idyllic and totally unified, mind you, but part of the Friday gathering is unity.
Today I’m asking you to pray for unity in developing Iranian and Afghan small groups and churches throughout the MedRim, but particularly in Athens. While many in Western cultures might try to lump Iranians and Afghans into one generic category, the truth is that there are many significant differences, some of which run centuries deep.
Pray that the Spirit would heal divisions that are centuries old. Beg God to break the power of Satan as he divides through unhealthy competition, lying, and deceit in these young churches. Pray as Jesus did in John 17 that they would be one just as Jesus and the Father are one so that He might be made known.
Thank you for praying.
