Day 3

Happy Sunday, friend! May your time with the family of Jesus be a blessing to you today! 

If you were to visit my friends Peter and Rie in Athens on Sunday, you’d be in for a treat! They would take you to worship at the Immanuel Discovery Bible Center and Church. You would be treated to an underground (literally below the ground!) worship in a variety of languages but focused on Farsi. You won’t sit on pews, you won’t sing a single song out of a hymnal, but you likely will dance before the day is over as well as come away blessed from worship with this part of our family. 

As you go to church today, pray for the Immanuel Discovery Bible Center and Church in Athens by name, that those who enter in today will experience the peace of Jesus. Pray also that His peace would abound, as people from countries and people groups that have made war against each other miraculously worship under one roof! 

Pray also that the True Light would shine brightly from that group of believers, as there is a mosque two blocks from the church in addition to a neighborhood known for the enslavement of vulnerable women in brothels. Everywhere the light breaks out, the darkness flees – but it often puts up a fight, too.
