Day 8
One of my favorite parts of these seasons of prayer (we also put together Ramadan and Diwali prayer challenges to pray for Muslims and Hindus; you can find more information on them here) is amplifying the voice of believers elsewhere in the world. Many of us may go whole months without having the honor to pray for brothers and sisters in Christ who come from very different backgrounds.
Today, I want us to carry to the Father prayer requests from Buddhist background believers – one a brother in Vietnam and the other our sister in Thailand.
From Ahn Dung in Vietnam:
Please pray for our church, which plans to open a new church for Vietnamese people only. We are starting with small steps.
Pray for me as I am looking for a new rent home.
Also pray for me as I disciple other young men.
From Chaichanna in Thailand:
Could you please pray for our focus on God’s words and His kingdom?
Please pray for my health, especially my recovery from knee injury and the surgery that I went through last September. I am still in process of recovery.
Please pray for Anurak who is preparing to go to university. Ask for wisdom as he chooses the best option for his degree.
Oh, also please pray for Aom’s faith in God, that she would embrace Him. Also pray about her poor health and her job situation.
In all likelihood, we will not get to meet Ahn Dung or Chaichanna in person. However, because of who Jesus is and who we are in Him, we have the gift of praying for them and the people they care about, knowing that our mutual Father listens to us on their behalf.
Thank you for praying.
