Day 30

A pause can be a powerful thing. The moment the crowd draws in its breath before the band bursts back into song. The moment birds and insects wait with bated breath for the storm to start. The moment children get quiet when a parent walks in the room (maybe that one’s a little different).

For we Christ followers, we have one coming up – Holy Saturday, the day creation held its breath waiting for the Son to rise again on Easter Sunday.

For the Muslims we’ve been praying for all month, this Saturday also is a pause. It’s the next to last day. It’s the day when preparation for the feast kicks into high gear. Whatever shopping, whatever travel, and whatever preparations need to be made get done.

And they’re also waiting.

God often speaks into pauses. Pray today that the Holy Spirit would speak into the minds and hearts of paused, waiting Muslims around the MedRim. Pray that they would discover they’ve actually been waiting their whole lives for a relationship with a person – a Person who is preparing a feast for them they didn’t see coming!
