Day 8
Fridays are always special days. For many of us in the States, it’s the end of another work week. For the world’s Muslims, though, it is a special day of worship and of gathering with other Muslims. This is frequently the one day of the week when they will participate in prayer at their mosque and hear a sermon from one of the leaders.
There is such a special emphasis on prayer in community that the Prophet Mohammed once said that attending one Friday prayer is equivalent to an entire year of praying and fasting!
Oddly enough, though, some workers in the MedRim report that Ramadan actually winds up making their Muslim friends feel disconnected from their friends and families.
As you pray today, pray that Muslims would not be content with the communities they have until they find community in Christ. Pray that Muslims around the MedRim would be called into vibrant Christian communities of people who acknowledge Jesus as Lord. Pray for Muslim background believers to unite in peace, as each group becomes the bride of Christ. Pray that Muslims would be called out of their mosques and into a relationship with Jesus.
