Day 27

As I mentioned yesterday, today is Laylat al Qadr, an especially holy day in the month of Ramadan. Whether you are fasting with us today or not, I am asking you to join your prayers with ours in warfare prayer today. 

One of my prayer mentors (and, by the way, if you don’t have a couple of prayer mentors in your life, get some!) taught me that one of the best ways to engage in spiritual warfare prayer is to discern where the enemy is moving and pray in the opposite direction! Peter, a MedRim worker, has done the work of learning for us; he’s calling us on this, the Night of Power, to pray in the opposite direction of where he has discerned the moves of the enemy (incidentally, we are persisting in prayer over this – we prayed these same prayers last year). 

First, he has been told of what Muslims are calling the European 20-30-40 Vision. Their prayer is that by the year 2030, 40% of Europe would be Muslim. Pray that this move of the enemy would be defeated, that what remains of this decade winds up being a decade of movement toward Christ and out of Islam. Pray that the 20-30-40 Vision is revealed to be a lie and that Satan’s defeat would be so thorough that many would come to Jesus because they saw Satan fall like lightning.  

Second, Peter is aware of at least 70 house mosques scattered throughout Athens – a number that is actually growing! Pray that God would break the power of those house mosques, that prayers spoken in those places would be fruitless, and that teaching spoken in them would wind up miraculously pointing people to Jesus. Pray that, by God’s grace and power, some of those house mosques would soon become house churches!
